No surprise here but I loved it! (Would be 5 stars but no epilogue disappointed me).
So sad this series is over - I have fallen in love with each and every one of these characters. Looking forward to the new Body Armor spin off series....LOVE LEESE! With this new series I am sure we will get some cameos that will satisfy my craving for the Ultimate crew.

Anyway, this story follows a different formula then most of the others in the series. Because of the slow build in all of the previous books - Armie and Rissy get together relatively quickly. So this book is more about how they navigate their relationship among all that life throws at them - her stalky ex, his forgettable and turbulent upbringing, the upcoming SBC fight and so much more.

Armie wasn't the only "fighter" in this story - Rissy fought for their future and did so admirably.

A MUST read for fans of the series - and you MUST read all the prior books to appreciate this one.

Well I had been anxiously waiting for the release of this book. I had been wanting to read about Sexy Armie Jacobson and Merissa Colter. I am so glad that the author wrote their story. Let me just say the wait was well worth it! This book had so many twists and turns, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I thought I knew how Armie was like based on how he is described in the other books, but there is way more to him. I loved Merissa's character, she is a strong independent woman and everyone knows it. She is not the clingy, emotional, drama type of female character and that was a breath of fresh air. I really loved both of these characters together and they make such a cute couple. This book isn't just a romance it has some suspense to it to, just like Lori Foster's other books. Just when you think you know who is behind everything you find that nope that's not who it is.

If you love all of Ms. Foster's books just like I do, then you will definitely love this one too!!

I can’t believe its over! I am so sad that the Ultimate series has come to an end, but I am so happy how it ended. I. Can. Not. WAIT. Until I can read the Body Armor series and get updates.
Lori Foster, as always, has taken me away into her world so seamlessly that I nearly cry when I have to stop reading and do real life things like sleep. Fighting Dirty was the book that I was most looking forward to. I was literally arguing with myself not to skip through major sections of book 2 and 3, which I absolutely LOVED by the way, in order to get to Armie and Rissy’s story faster. I held out and read them all the way through with a smile on my face. I’m honestly surprised I was able to read this book all in one day due to the fact that its nearly impossible to keep my eyes open when I am squealing. Read this book. Read this series! Don’t skip, no matter how much you want to, it will be worth the suspense. I truly hope you enjoy Armie and Rissy’s story as much as I did. Body Armor series, here I come. Happy Reading!

~3.5-4/5
It’s been a while since I’ve read any of Foster, since the last couple weren’t very good. I needed a break. But now it seems that she’s gotten back to her high point, and I really enjoyed this one. I missed these books.

I didn’t expect this to be so connected to her earlier SBC series, but I loved getting to see those characters again. That was fun.

Armie has always been best friends with Merissa’s older brother, and she’s had a crush on him for years now. But he’s always thought of her as off limits, and he’s never thought of himself as good enough. Merissa decides that she’s going to go for it, and she doesn’t let him back out easily.

I enjoyed their chemistry, and it was fun seeing them forming a solid relationship. She is relentless, and he wants her, and it’s obvious. She doesn’t let him back off, because she wants him and she knows he’s just denying it to protect her. I liked how understanding but strong she stayed about the whole subject, accepting him and pushing only when it was needed. The smut was good, too. And it was fun seeing that even her brother was happy about it, and how their friends were ready to protect if needed.

The serious plot point was actually quite interesting, and I liked how it turned out and was revealed.

I’m looking forward to reading both Denver’s story and Leese’s story next. I’m excited for more.

There is always a character in a series of books that draws your attention and makes you ache to learn more about him or her. Armie Jacobson is exactly that type of character!

Armie has been a fixture in The Ultimate Series from the beginning. Best friends with Cannon "Saint" Colter, friends and MMA fighter with Denver and Stack, this man has all the right characteristics that make a great hero: loyalty, intelligence, strength, nobility, and toughness. He enjoys pleasure in excess and isn't apologetic about it at all. In his opinion, with his history and background, that's all he has to offer anyone. Oh, Armie, Armie, Armie. How wrong you are! The mighty will fall and fall oh so very hard!

Enter Merrisa Colter, Cannon's sister and Armie's forbidden fruit, his Holy Grail and the woman of his dreams who he believes he cannot have. Rissa is tall, pretty, intelligent, loyal and strong. She is also in love with Armie. Not the wisest combination on paper but put the two of them together, the equation results in combustible relationship! She knows who she wants and will not be discouraged. Rissa and Armie, after so much time, FINALLY (thank goodness) FINALLY have their story!

This is a story about overcoming misunderstandings, unpleasant childhood and learning to accept being worthy of all the good that life has to offer.

The book is a strong romance wrapped in a suspense story with heat, humor, friendship, violence and drama. The writing is excellent, drawing your emotions from one end of the spectrum to the other in a tightly woven plot. I found myself tearing up, laughing out loud, wanting to strangle some of the characters and feeling happiness at how it all wrapped up. That is the sign of an excellent author!

While this book can be read alone, there are spoilers of the relationships of the previous heroes and heroines. Also, this series has characters that will move to the new spin-off series.

Previous books in The Ultimate Series:
Hard Knocks (Gage & Harper)
No Limits (Cannon & Yvette)
Holding Strong (Denver & Cherry)
Tough Love (Stack & Vanity)

Received an ARC for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fighting Dirty is a thrilling

Fighting Dirty is a thrilling, funny conclusion to a fantastic series.

Lori Foster brings us the brilliant conclusion to the Ultimate Series, in which she truly saved the best for last. In Fighting Dirty, we finally get the story of Armie Jacobson, the sinfully gorgeous, playful, protective, sexually liberated, very complicated man that we have been getting to know since the first book in the Ultimate series. Armie finally gets the romance that he desires and deserves with Merissa Colter or “Rissy,” who is everybody’s “off limits” little sis. Once you start this one, you won’t want to put it down until the very last kiss.

Sometimes the best things really do come to those who wait, which was definitely true for Armie and Rissy. They have loved each other for years and years, even though everyone else seemed to know it except for them. After all that waiting, it was thrilling to see two people willing to fight for their happily ever after. Whether it was battling the external forces trying to drive them apart or those internal fears that tried to prevent them from risking their hearts, both Armie and Rissy fought hard to be together, literally and figuratively.

There were so many things to love about Fighting Dirty including: 1) funny stuff like Armie’s outrageous t-shirts, 2) sexy stuff like Armie’s outrageous past and sexual appetite, and 3) touching stuff like the relationship between Armie and Bray, one of the at risk teens from the rec center who was facing his own troubled circumstances. I loved that in the middle of this romance, Lori Foster put the spotlight on saving kids in trouble and incorporated that trait as a part of Armie’s character.

It was also great seeing all of the sexy guys that we have come to know and love in this series, being, well….sexy! Especially Leese who is now particularly badass! In addition to all of the Ultimate Guys, there were surprise appearances from nearly all of the MMA fighters that Lori has been writing about over the years, including my favorite, Jude Jamison.

Don’t miss this thrilling conclusion to the Ultimate Series. If you are looking for a funny, sexy, touching, thrill ride, then Fighting Dirty is one that is guaranteed to deliver. And don’t despair when it’s over because the good news is that several of the Ultimate guys, including Leese, Justice, Brand and Miles, will return in Lori’s new bodyguard series. Can’t wait!!!

I loved every minute of it. Lori never lets you down. I look for stories of what is common to most people. These are everyday people living their lives in process of making them better. I love the idea of keeping community in each story she has written. Most of them deal with trouble kids or characters who have live some type of troubled lives.
In this story the idea of the brothers best friend is admired by his little sister is the classic story of the coming of age of a first love you never forget. As Merissa grows up she never forgets the bad boy that stole her heart. The fearless Arime finds he isn't afraid of anything but the possibility of losing what he protects the most, his heart.
Loris stories always surrounds the main characters with a good support system of friends. The bounds of friendships run deep amoung them and makes for a rewarding tale, not to mention the hot and romantic love scenes that follow all of her books.
As all good romance they end well and its the classic fairytale of happily ever after, something most of us remember from childhood of the princess gaining the love of her prince.
I have read several works of romance but Lori's is one I always come back too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Armie and Merissa's story!
Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2016

I have been looking forward to the story of Armie Jacobson and Merissa Colter for a while now. Since Merissa first appeared in this series, she has been in love with Armie. Unfortunately, Armie doesn’t seem to know she is alive.

The readers, however, have noticed for awhile that Armie acts differently around Merissa than he does around everyone else. He becomes shy and has trouble speaking to her. He also disappears, if possible, whenever she is around. This is unusual for him because Armie is a womanizer and a player. In fact, he is very open and outspoken about his unusual sexual practices.

This is the long awaited book where Merissa gets together with Armie. Armie finally admits to Merissa that he has always been attracted to her but, because of her brother, he has stayed away from her. Merissa is the sister of Cannon, a fighter and the owner of the rec center. Cannon and Armie are as close as brothers.

As much as I love Armie and Merissa getting together, I am not happy with Armie at first. First of all, he is very open with Merissa about his different sexual activities. It seems to me as if he flaunts it in her face. To make it worse, he tells Merissa that he wants to keep their relationship private. But, he never explains his reason. Merissa, of course, assumes the worst, but Arnie never actually corrects her.
Adding to the fact that their relationship must be private, Armie, still, openly, flirts with the women he used to have sex with. This is sometimes, even, in front of Merissa. Yet, Merissa is never allowed to approach him in public.

However, eventually, things change for Armie. Little by little, it is obvious to all of us, including his fighter friends that he is in love with Merissa. The only one who doesn’t actually notice is Armie himself.

I, also, love the suspense in the book. It is a major problem for the couple and continues to disrupt their relationship throughout the book. Even though we find out early on who the “villain,” this knowledge does not ruin the story. The suspense is so extremely important to the story of Armie and Merissa, that we can’t help wonder what will happen next.

In spite of the fact that I disliked Armie at first, he very nicely redeems himself in the end. In fact, he does a fantastic job of groveling which clearly makes up for his original problems. Also, little by little, we see the soft, loving and caring side of Armie. By the end of the book, Armie becomes such a wonderful lover who only has eyes for Merissa that I, also, fell in love with him.

This is the last book in this series. However, it is possible to enjoy this book without having read the books that are ahead of it. However, in order to fully enjoy this novel, I highly recommend that you read the first three books before you read this book. The characters of Merissa and Armie and their relationship are developed on early on in this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Armie Was Worth The Wait

So... Lori Foster does this amazing thing where she introduces a character and lets you slow burn on that character for about 3 books, getting to know him, and letting you fall in love with him. She did it with Rowdy, she did it with Cannon and now Armie is no exception. The great thing about all of these characters is that they were totally worth the wait. And Armie is no exception.
We learn way back in the beginning of Cannon's book, No Limits, that Armie is a player with boundless energy who's a decent fighter and Cannon's right hand. The sexual tension flies between Merissa, Cannon's sister and Armie, you can definitely see where the story might be headed.
In this book, I really enjoyed all the great chemistry between Merissa and Armie, now fully formed characters and at the center of the story. Merissa is her own person, tall and proud. A worthy heroine for Armie.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I always look forward to Lori Foster's new releases but this one was above and beyond my expectations. I have read and reread this book about 5 times now and I'm still not bored with it. Fun, flirty and at times suspenseful. A great read.

I have waited patiently for Armie's story. I wanted his story as much as Cannon's so I'm not sure if I was was expecting too much or not but it doesn't really matter because Foster has never let me down. Rissy was a lot more level headed and grown up in this story than she has been portrayed in earlier books. I am glad this book came at the end of series so she could grow up a bit. Armie was smokin' hot (like everyone knew he would be). It is not my favorite in the series, but still good. There was never any doubt in my mind that he would die before letting anything happen to her. Their story was sweet and even though they had history, the build up was not rushed. They took their time (as much time as expected in a single book).

Armie is a MMA fighter just signed to a big company. Since he has been avoiding doing this since the first book in the series, we now know why. His past is shady, his family is horrible but he is a fighter with a soft heart and a great soul. It helps that he also has a overindulgence issue in the bed. Armie is good at fighting and *. Marissa has know him since they were young and has been in love with him just as long. He avoids his best friends lil' sister at all costs (even his happiness) until her life is threatened and he is the only one who can console her.
