How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we donโ€™t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Will Trent is quickly becoming a character to root for. I bought both the audible and kindle versions this time, knowing Kathleen Early was the narrator, unlike the last two books in the Grant County series, and Triptych, which was narrated by a man. Iโ€™m looking forward to the next book in the series, as Iโ€™m becoming a fan of the orderly life Will tries to maintain, while the women in his life from his boss Amanda to his fiancรฉ, and new partner inevitably introduce chaos into his life.

I enjoyed this book although I did think it was a little bit long and it went a little bit slowly. But finding out about Will Trent a little bit more and then his new partner Faith was actually really interesting I would recommend it and Iโ€™m excited to read book number three

1.0 out of 5 stars I'd send this back but I felt better burning it.

I look for good suspensful mystery/crime books. I purchased these two books on the recommendation of Mary Higgins Clark. I was bitterly disappointed in the extreme use of profanity. It was a total distraction. If anyone out there can recommend some books with good character development that isn't based on how profane the characters are, I would appreciate suggestions. So far only Lee Child books seem to be in that category. (While he describes Reacher as having love interests, he allows the reader SOME degree of imangination and skips the minute, graphic details of the physical relationship.I don't need to be a voyer to enjoy the story line!)

This disc can't be read in my MP3 player. When I try the other option of downloading it to my computer or adding it to iTunes, I get the message. "The Disc cannot be read. The Disc could not be read from or written to. Since It's past the return date, I'm stuck paying for a book I can't listen to.

Terribly boring trudge through the authorโ€™s back patting of the underpayment of a book that never appears. Bait and switch?

I can not believe how popular this author is. I have not read her and saw that ABC I will be broadcasting a new series based on the Will Trent character so I downloaded this novel. Saying that is is dreadful is an understatement. What a load of drivel. I seldom discard a mystery. always sloging Away to learn โ€œwho done itโ€. This time I quit . Who cares.

1.0 out of 5 stars Skip this book.

I listened to this book on Audible. The story starts and has promise in the first half hour, then literally 8.5 hours later nothing else interesting had happened. I kept waiting, finally giving up. Also itโ€™s completely unrealistic that the main character has achieved what he has without being able to read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Super wordy, not believable or satisfying.

The premise of the story was okay. It took a lot of work on my part to believe a guy who cannot read or write would ever become an investigator for the GBI. The real problem was the needless wordiness of the text. Get to the point, already!!! Was this author being paid by the word?? There was so much pointless and uninteresting description of settings or charactersโ€™ thoughts. The story would have been better had an editor chopped the prose down by a third. Ugh.
In addition, the ending was unsatisfying.

I picked this up at a used bookstore. I hate when the back cover explanation is more interesting than the book! I liked the first few pages with the Abigail, but once Will was introduced, my interest tanked.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Much of a Mystery
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on June 4, 2009
A girl is found murdered, beaten and stabbed. A man comes toward the (supposed) mother of the girl with a knife in his hand, struggles with her, grabs her ankles, never identifies himself in any way - but he CAN and is talking. Taking this to mean that he's the killer, she kills him. It's discovered fairly quickly that he isn't the killer, but one of the victims, who acts very inappropriately in a crucial situation.

The very first character I cared about and was interested in, was the mother, Abigail - unfortunately she disappeared after that, and it was all about a GBI detective, Will, who somehow obtained an advanced degree without being able to read, fill out applications, etc, and Faith, a police officer who had an illegitimate child at age 15 and is now very concerned with her love life. If you are interested in dyslexia, unwed motherhood, and/or police officer's personal relationships this could be the book for you. As for the victim and the main offender, well, not much was told. The other offender was just a stupid orphan (also with dyslexia - but not intelligent - he was not in the majority of dyslexics!), so, what can you expect but that he would be easily led into doing wrong?

Oh, I also liked the dog, Betty.

Good book and entertaining. I like the characters and the ending was very good. I am very interested in what happens to Will Trent.

This is clique city. There's not one she does not use. It is a shame so many authors who can not write get published.
