Love but could be better

I've been reading Cosmo for years and before that I read Cosmogirl when I was a young teen. I loved all the fashion magazines and especially Cosmo and Seventeen. Would love to see more real-life articles and edgier fashion and makeup. Similar to what Seventeen used to do for me as a teen growing into a young woman.

This magazine have all black people in it it was hard to even see a white person and they went overboard. And then there were words I didn't even understand and the whole thing was just far too sexual for my liking

I’ve been getting cosmopolitan for years now an I stopped last year due to the pandemic starting but recently figured I’d start back up an just leave my mags out on the porch for a few days then read them.. but I was really surprised to see the magazine was so much thinner now. They aren’t as thick as they use to be. Now I might say this is my first mag in my new subscription so maybe this is just this one but I doubt it. But it’s still good stories and all but just not as it was b4..

Cosmopolitan is one of those magazines that I used to buy off the newsstand when I was bored or going on a trip. My car has a stack of five or six random issues from two years sitting in case I get bored. Actually subscribing to the magazine was a leap of faith (and $10) for me because I have never been an extreme fan. After waiting around for 7 weeks for delivery, I finally got my first issue and I haven't been disappointed.

Also subscribing to Marie Claire, I am a much bigger fan of Cosmo because of its content, articles, and focus on people more my age than Marie Claire is. From more economical shopping choices to a focus on what women want to read and buy, Cosmo offers a great deal of entertainment packed in its pages, with interviews, fashion spreads, and relationship advice that I definitely need. I am a 20 something who still loves picture stories, so Cosmo is definitely my kind of magazine. While not as awesome as my love of Entertainment Weekly, Cosmopolitan has a lot of what I love to read, and I'll be keeping my subscription with it while my Marie Claire subscription will be ending come next year.

When I saw this deal, I got really excited because its my favorite magazine but its so expensive I almost never buy it. So I purchased it, and then I started looking at the reviews. I saw a lot of 'it takes SO LONG to come', and this didn't make me too happy.
I purchased this subscription mid-march; my 'April' issue didn't come till 3 weeks later. I considered this slow but not terrible as some other reviewers said. It DOES say it will take 4-6 weeks for the first issue to come.
And today, looking through my mail, I found the MAY issue - its April 19th, and it's only been 1-2 weeks since I've gotten the first issue.
So I think that the first issue will probably take awhile to come, but after that they come more regularly and more proportionate to the time they sell it in stores (April issue sells in March, May issue in April, etc.)
Overall I'm very happy with my cosmopolitan subscription via Amazon. And if you don't like the magazine, perhaps you shouldn't purchase a subscription. It's kind of unfair to buy a subscription to a magazine you don't like and then post reviews about how crappy it is.

Cosmo has been a great go-to magazine since I was in my late teens. The older I get, the less applicable and entertaining it is (I'm 29 now). I guess maybe I'm just growing out of it? It's still a well rounded magazine with a little bit of everything: fashion, makeup/beauty, relationships, sex, health, and fitness. Granted, a lot of it doesn't apply to me, like some of the clothes are out of my price range and some of the makeup tips I can't see myself doing. In general it has some content that I enjoy.

I was lucky enough to snag this subscription for $5 for the year on some promotion. For that price I give it 5 stars, but in general I wouldn't pay the cover price for it. I find there are A LOT of ads in it and ideas are recycled over and over. The front of the magazine always boasts some miraculous sex trick/secret/tip, that half the time I feel like I just read in the previous month. I say, for $0.41 an issue, I'm a very happy customer, it helps me kill time while waiting for a Dr apt or during my lunch break at work. If I paid over $4 an issue, I'd feel cheated. I receive my magazine monthly the same week it hits store shelves.
