Request a Tax Refund
The following information is provided on how to request a tax refund.
- Allow for your shipment to be delivered before submitting a request. Tax refunds cannot be issued until your shipment is delivered successfully.
- Contact Customer Service by emailing tax-exempt@amazon.com with a detailed request. Include any supporting tax exemption documentation for the state or US territory to which your shipment was delivered.
Important: Please include the following:
- Your order number (17 digits in this format: XXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX).
- Reason for request
- E-mail address
- Supporting documentation of your exempt status (if applicable)
Note: Our agreement with non-FBA sellers does not permit Amazon to process tax only refunds on their behalf. However, you can contact the seller directly for a tax refund. To learn more, visit Tax on Items Sold by Sellers on Amazon.
