About Terry Spear
USA TODAY bestselling, and award-winning author and creator of award-winning teddy bears who have found homes all over the world including Australia, Switzerland, China, and Russia, and a retired officer of the US Army Reserves, I love to plant trees and flowers and if I could, I'd turn all the deserts green. Time travels are my favorite read, although I love to read most anything, and the Bourne series, Romancing the Stone, Sixth Sense, Legend, The Princess Bride, Stardust, Inkheart, LOTR, and tons of other movies are my favorites.
I love to research, to make urban fantasy worlds real, to bring a little of the paranormal into our world. Even in "Winning the Highlander's Heart" the heroine feels she is cursed and she has second sight. But I try to do it in a way that feels real, and not fantasized. :)

Blog postWorth their weight in gold!
I managed to get my word count yesterday. I can’t believe I only need 24,000 words to finish the minimum word count. The book always ends up longer, but when I first begin, it always seems like I’ll never get there.
Little one will be here any second, so got to run. Hope you all have an excitingly fun day!

Blog postIt was hot and sunny when I took the picture. I’ll have to take another when the lighting is better and with my camera, not my phone. The orange is just like this. Brilliant!
Have you ever seen something and wished you’d gotten it right then and there? Well, I saw these beautiful orange roses at the grocery store yesterday morning. They rarely have them, and they’re the only ones that get them. I’d never seen orange before. I have several other colors. I just adore them and this is thYesterday Read more -

Blog postWe had nearly two inches of rain since 2:30 this morning, violent thunderstorms, so when it stopped, I was out tying up tomato plants and weeding. This will probably be the coolest it will ever be again until winter!
Created this yesterday! Reading takes me to someplace really magical. Maybe even here! Writing does the same for me! And so does creating fantastical art!
I’m off to work on the story and weed and cut back plants!
Hope your day is magical!

Blog postI took the original photo at the zoo in Omaha in the desert exhibit. Such a sweet little face.
We’re swimming today. Really going to be hot again. So this is the best thing to do. But on Sunday, thunderstorms are rolling in and cooling off things. Yay!!! Supposedly, we’re having thunderstorms and cooler weather through Thursday, but I’ll believe it when I see it. And then the temperatures shoot back up. This is unusual for it to be this hot for so long so early in May.

Blog postYou thought you had the bath to yourself.
Been busy this morning trimming up trees. Back to work on the story. I FINALLY made my tea. I’ve tried for 2 hours–getting distracted, water grows cold, reheat water.
I finally made myself stay in the kitchen, empty the dishwasher, and voila, I have my thermos of hot tea.
Have a super fine day!

I’ve been working all morning on trimming back crepe myrtles. I don’t top them, but I trim off the lower branches to form a nice tree. The peeling bark on crepe myrtles make the trunks just as beautiful as the foliage and flowers. So one is blooming! It’s a red, but its flowers came out pink this year. lol
And I have two beautiful volunteers are realize are weeping crepe myrtles. I love them, but never bought any. I wa1 week ago Read more -

Blog postI love storm clouds so take pictures whenever I see them. Yes, we did get rained on when we were out and about. One of my favorite signs–I have a picture somewhere–is: “Don’t Feed the Alligators.” And it’s no joke.
Hope you all have a great day! I’m off to get my writing jump started. I’m at the halfway point on Highland Wolf, yay!

Blog postOriginal photo taken in Savannah, Georgia when I was there for a readers’ conference.
I was out weeding like crazy. I could weed every day for hours and never get ahead of them for long, I’m sure. Very hot and muggy so had to do it first thing.
Sun’s coming out which will make it worse!
So it’s back to the snow in the Highland book. That should cool me off. I should reach the halfway point today. Yay!
Have a fun day!!
