"Ivy Naistadt says "messages sent to us in the past by significant people in our lives, whether unintentional or intentional, can leave lasting impressions...creating inhibitions that affect how we deal with the present." Throughout the entire book, Naistadt shares her personal and professional anecdotes as they relate to public speaking. This is the type of reference book that should be used throughout your career."
— Examiner.com
"This book could be your Bible as it addresses the problem of stage fright and other difficulties connected with public speaking."
— USA Today Magazine
"I wish I'd had [this] book 20 years ago... it's very very valuable - one of the best of it's kind I've ever seen quite frankly."
— NPR Radio
"It may be all talk, but there's a lot to be said for overcoming stage fright: The unrelenting phenomenon can prevent you from attaining social and professional success. Naistadt helps you pinpoint the reasons that you clam up during important presentations and in front of crowds. She targets your nervousness profile and cultivates specific ways you can overcome the jitters, working through "surface" and hidden obstacles so you can shine."
— Rebecca Louie, NY Daily News
"Excellent advice for overcoming common [public speaking] fears and obstacles. A fine guide, recommended."
— Library Journal
"Very enjoyable!
The layout of the book and all of the personal references really resonated with me. I look forward to future releases from this author." - Goodreads

Mike Acker has written a book that anyone needs to read, not just for public speakers but if fear is something that is holding you back from pursuing your dreams. I love the authors anecdotes and stories he uses to back up the material. Mike's book is built on 7 strategies he uses to overcome and push through the fear of public speaking.
Mike tells us that:
If you struggle when you speak, then you are not alone. Public speaking is the #1 fear in America. Millions of people are terrified at the prospect of going up on stage and addressing a crowd even more than they’re afraid of death. And yet, it’s an unavoidable experience if you want to succeed in this world. Maybe it’s a business presentation for your career path, a speech in school, or a toast at your best friend’s wedding. Fear of speaking grips you. But it doesn’t have to. Not anymore."
I felt supported in reading this book that finally someone knew how I felt when I had to deliver a speech of any kind in front of a crowd. Fear can take over, your throat goes dry, and you feel totally vulnerable, but with the 7 strategies in this book you are able to work through the fear and gain greater perspective on the WHY of why you are scared. In the end, it isn't as bad as we usually think, and you will become a great public speaker if you follow the strategies laid out here.
The strategies are:
1. Uncover & Clean the Wound
2. Imagine the Worst
3. You Be You
4. Speak to One
5. It’s Not About You
6. Channel The Power
7. Be in the Moment
Full of relatable anecdotes, executable tips, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, this book promises to teach you 7 proven strategies to help you find your inner presenter. Don’t wait any longer. Today is the day you take charge of your anxiety, calm your nerves, and – most importantly – speak with no fear.
You don't want to leave this book on the table if you have a speech coming up...a definite must-have!
— Scott Allan
But then there’s Mike Acker. You can tell he’s a great speaker just by how he delivers the material he wants to get across to the reader (his audience). He expertly interweaves stories and analogies that make the book enjoyable to read at a level that you actually forget you’re learning something. Great speakers do that very same thing on stage. Their focus is fully on the audience to make sure the people who have granted their time and attention toward the speaker receives the best experience.
Great speakers care about their audience and the audience can feel it.
Mike cares about his readers in that same way to make sure you have the best experience going through his book. He knows if you take what he’s teaching to heart, he can change your life.
However, even Mike doesn’t expect you to finish the book and magically become a fearless public speaker. Mike has laid out actionable steps you need to take to put what you are learning into practice to truly benefit from what he is teaching.
Don’t skip the steps! If you don’t take the steps, if you don’t take action—nothing changes.
Since you’re reading this review, that most likely means you’re considering getting the book which also tells me you want something in your life to change. I assure you, if you put into action the steps in this book, your life will never be the same (in a great way!).
It will be worth every penny. It will be worth every minute you put into the book.
There will be no time wasted here.
Buy the book.

Great tips; I'm sure if followed it will help not only the speaker at public events, but mainly the audience, because after all it is about them, and how to be of service to them by delivering an awesome speech.
A must read if you are thinking of doing any kind of public speaking.

It's really easy to read and the author shares his own personal journey - so I feel like he knows exactly how I feel.
Would definitely recommend.
