Crystal Lee woke from a dream that made her feel angry, but also helpless. Even after five years, dreams of her ex-boyfriend destroyed her self-esteem and took away her confidence. Maybe she would never heal. Erin, one of the 3 woman waiting to go back to Earth after their rescue by the Luxirians, decided to sit in the large warm pool and Crystal decided to go with her. There was a huge window looking out at the back of a mountain. As the women talked, a shadow passed the window, a Luxirian male who came out of a hidden door. The way he moved past, Crystal knew something was wrong. Before they could leave the pool and tell the guards, there was a loud commotion at the front door. A huge Luxirian, different from the others they had met, burst into the room and took the two of them captive, unaware of Bianca sleeping on the floor beside the bed in the room the 3 women shared. He took them into the hidden doorway he had come through and escaped with them.
Ambassador Cruxan knew something was wrong when he landed on the terrace. He contacted Prime Leader Vaxa’an to join him at the women’s residence to investigate. He followed a strange scent, but it stopped at the mountain wall around the back. Vaxa’an told him it was an old hidden passageway that only a few of his family knew about it a long time ago. Whoever had used it was not one of their people. Only Jaxor’an, Vaxa’an’s only blood brother, knew of it. He had defected to the Mevirax after his mother’s and sire’s deaths, abandoning Vaxa’an to rule. It was the Mevirax they strongly suspected had possession of the energy crystal that had been stolen from them. Vaxa’an turned to Cruxan, his tracker, and sent him after them.
Cruxan was able to track the woman, but there was a slight complication. The kidnapper was indeed Jaxor’an, but both Jaxor’an and Cruxan’s had found their mate and their Instinct came alive! To save the women, they would need to fight together as the Mevirax raced toward them to grab the women Jaxor’an had kidnapped for them before he knew Erin was his mate. Both of them now had one priority – save their mate! Was that going to be possible being outnumbered by the enemy? And they had to catch their mate, as both women ran deeper into the woods as soon as Jaxor’an and Cruxan had started to fight each other. Would they escape the escalated danger? Would they be able to get away?
I absolutely love this series! The Luxirians are so protective of their women; they just melt me with their absolute devotion! But there is a bigger story here. What had Jaxor’an intended to trade for when he kidnapped the women? What was really going on? And now what would happen when his priorities turned completely around?
