About Michele PW (Pariza Wacek)
When Michele was 3 years old, she taught herself to read because she wanted to write stories so badly. It took some time (and some detours) but she does spend much of her time writing stories now. Mystery stories, to be exact. They're clean and twisty, and range from psychological thrillers to cozies, with a dash of romance and supernatural thrown into the mix. If that wasn't enough, she posts lots of fun things on her blog, including short stories, puzzles, recipes and more, at MPWNovels.com.
Michele holds a double major in English and Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently she lives in the mountains of Prescott, Arizona with her husband Paul and southern squirrel hunter Cassie.

Blog postThe first book I ever wrote, Mirror Image, took me twenty-some years to write.
I was in high school when the idea first came to me. I originally thought it would be a just a quick, little short story I would bang out in a day or two, but no matter how much I worked on it, I couldn’t get it right.
I eventually figured out the issue, namely that it wasn’t a short story after all, but a novel. Once I realized that, then more issues came to light, namely that I was starting it in1 week ago Read more -

Blog postAuthor note: If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you already know that for every book I release, I do a Story Behind the Story version where I share a little bit about the inspiration and writing of each book. As Charlie always has a lot to say, I thought I’d invite her to share her thoughts as on each book. Take it away Charlie!
Thanks Michele. And let me add, it’s about time.

Blog postFor as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with vampires. There was a year in elementary school where I was terrified of vampires. I can’t remember what triggered it (although, knowing me, I probably read some adult vampire book I had no business reading, like Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot) but whatever […]

It would be available for the month of October 2021 for free in exchange for an email. After that, the anthology would be taken down and we would all get our stories back.

But instead of a new beginning, Becca is thrust into a mysterious past she barely remembers. A past that includes …
Complications from interacting with her old teenage crush, Daniel …
Struggling to regain her memory of the night 16-year-old Jessica disappeared …
Dealing with the townspeople, who are convinced she and her family are behind many of the violent murders and disappearances that have plagued Redemption …
Living in her aunt’s old house, which the locals swear is haunted.
But there's no such thing as ghosts. Right?
So, what IS the real secret of Redemption?

EXCEPT when it comes to love. She does NOT do love potions.
Not even for Courtney, her pregnant new client who showed up three weeks before Christmas seeking a love potion because her husband was cheating on her.
So, Courtney asked about poison, instead.
She said she was joking. That's what happens between wives and husbands. They get angry and talk about killing each other. They don't really mean it.
It seems to make sense ... until Courtney’s husband turns up dead on Christmas Eve.
He was poisoned, of course.
And who is the number one suspect? Courtney. Of course.
But did she actually do it? Or is she being set up?
It's up to Charlie to sort through all the twists and turns in a case that gets more complicated the deeper she digs.

Every day, Sissy goes to the same restaurant at the same time and orders the same thing.
No one knows why.
Until the day a stranger from a mysterious, haunted town arrives.
And nothing will be the same.
Today I'll See Her is a complete, standalone story in The Riverview Mysteries series.
Also includes a bonus story: Mine, a dark, twisted psychological thriller.
She doesn't expect things to get so ... strange.
It’s odd enough that it takes place over a weekend, but that’s just the beginning ...
They also need to stay in Claire's grandma's supposedly haunted house with Claire's estranged family.
Things get even worse when a huge storm snows them in. No electricity, no phone, and no way out.
Throw a dead body into the mix, and there’s no question it’s now the world’s worst family gathering. Ever.
At least Charlie brought lots of tea, which she's going to need as she races to solve this closed-circle mystery before her friend’s dysfunctional family get-together results in anyone else being murdered.

There's no such thing as gargoyles ... right?
Charlie Kingsley is NOT a doctor. She is very clear about this to all her customers who purchase her teas and tinctures.
But, somehow that doesn't stop her customers from treating her like a doctor. Including calling her in the middle of the night to help with an emergency.
What's the emergency? Her customer's daughter, Cyndi, was attacked by a ... gargoyle?
But gargoyles aren't real!
Right?
So, who attacked Cyndi? And who's next?

"Good ghost story without all the gore you usually get. Charlie is a woman with a mind all her own. She decides what she's going to do and listens to no one else's opinion. Of course, that doesn't mean she won't drag one of her many friends along with her. Well done Michele." Goodreads reviewer

Becca would like nothing better than to put the past behind her and focus on making Redemption her home. But what do you do when the past refuses to stay buried?
Becca still can't remember the night sixteen-year-old Jessica disappeared from a party, never to be seen again. Which is bad enough (especially since she was supposedly the last person to see Jessica alive), but it's not the worst …
Strange events are making Becca think there's a link between what happened to Jessica fifteen years ago and the darkness happening now.
With help from her friends and her teenage crush, Daniel, Becca races against time to uncover the truth about Jessica before another sixteen-year-old girl is doomed to the same fate as Jessica …

So when Mildred Schmidt, one of Charlie’s customers, is convinced that her next-door neighbor’s house sitter is actually a vampire, Charlie of course has to step in to see what is really going on.
What she finds is … disturbing. The house sitter DOES have some peculiar habits—like digging holes in the backyard in the middle of the night.
Surely, they aren’t … graves.
But then Polly, a local teenager, goes missing.
Of course, teenagers DO run away from time to time.
Less explainable is the dead body that then appears in the “vampire’s” yard.
Luckily, Charlie is hot on the case, and not a moment too soon as she races to not only find Polly, but to discover the killer before the bodies start to pile up.

For the first time in her life, Charlie felt like she belonged.
She loved living in Redemption, Wisconsin. She had everything she ever wanted: a home, friends, a new business, a new love.
However, nothing is ever what it seems in Redemption. And you should never, ever, discount the darkness hiding under the surface.
The Reckoning is Part 2 of Charlie's story and resolves the cliffhanger from The Summoning. Both books are a prequel to the main series and can be read before Books 1-3.

There’s a reason why Redemption, Wisconsin, is the home of all sorts of odd occurrences, including disappearances, murders, and general weirdness.
It all started back in 1888, when all the adults vanished, leaving behind only the children. No one knows what happened to the adults, but there is no end to the rumors flying around.
One particularly persistent rumor involves a cabin in the woods, and what supposedly lives in it. Some say if you can find it, you’ll be granted your deepest wish.
Others say to beware. It will come with too high a cost.
Needless to say, that warning has never stopped people from hunting for the cabin over the years, including five friends celebrating one last hurrah before m0ving on to the next chapter of their lives.
It's a few days to party, to make memories …. and maybe even change their lives, should their greatest wishes actually be granted.
Except … one doesn’t return.
Is this someone's idea of a joke? Or is there something else going on?
Luckily, Charlie is not only on the case but fueled with tea, as this will prove to be one of her most puzzling crimes to date.
