Representation is so important!
This series portrays strong women who take back their own agency. It represents what it's like to be queer in an Indian society. It reveals the secrets that are concealed within families because "log kya kahenge" and reputation, as if that matters more than being morally conscious. This is has so many intriguing stories that address issues that I have not yet seen in Indian cinema. A Masterpiece.

So sad to depict Indian culture like this
While some redeeming qualities of interest overall portrays an empty view of Indian culture . With half Hindi and half English (HInglish) why do they English portions have to use the "f" word about every 10 sentences? Sex scenes sprinkled throughout were tiresome and not necessary.

Time we portrayed urban India as it is !
We are so used to seeing sanitized views of urban India culture. This series is refreshingly original in the sense that it does not shy away from addressing the ground realities of relationships, matchmaking and weddings in urban India. The need to show off, the double-standards, the hypocrisy, the genuine desire to find one's place in society, feminine aspirations - I loved the manner in which these undercurrents were blended. the f*** word is so frequently used - nothing wrong about it, in India it is used fairly freely in informal circles! "Log kya kehenge" (what will people say!) is the quintessential India conundrum that the middle and upper class Indians constantly battle to come to terms with! Thoroughly enjoyable and binge-worthy!

Absolutely Loved it
I just finished binge watching the show in just two day. So awesome. Loved, Loved, Loved it. Definitely need a Season 2. Amazing stories, cast, production, everything! Even though I loved and enjoyed the show thoroughly, by the end of it all I could think about is how sad we all are in this world, and how desperately we hide our trauma, sufferings, and sadness behind the happy masks we put on everyday.

Another "original series" with unnecessary profanity which distracts from story line and visuals
I often like watching Indian movies/shows; in fact Monsoon Wedding is a classic. But while I don't mind subtitles and mixed English, dislike the overuse of the F word. Reminds me of several Amazon originals -more profanity than in an action suspense series/film. The F word just doesn't seem to fit in with the culture, as well as the first bed scene being between two men when India just decriminalized homosexuality less than a year ago. Otherwise, visually appealing -almost reminds me in certain scenes of Crazy Rich Asians.

MUST WATCH
*** 🚨 spoiler alert 🚨 ***

I wanted to check this show out and I ended up staying all night till I finished watching it.
Being from Lahore, I have never been to Delhi or India but being in US I have met many delhities and it doesn’t cease to amaze me how similar we are across the border of India and Pakistan.
BUT
exhibitionism of wealth through the lens of all- heart compassionate lower middle class turned socialite whose dream doesn’t stop at being only that. She went up the ladder so she can be an independent empowered woman. You see the plight of the vulnerable gay guy who could not come out of the closet due to societal and legal stipulations that were implemented in India by the British colonizers. You see fair and unfair and eventually standing up for justice in whatever way they could. Every characters inner self is felt so deeply. From the poor working young girl who had a f*** buddy to a photographer who is probably has nothing in his closet to hide and still is epitome to empathy- and also the closeted ones who go through their lives lying so others are not effected. It’s always heart warming to see the under dogs get their way by hook or by crook. Shobhita reminds of Deepika so much. Dresses and acts the same as DP. But she is more likable than DP .SD doesnt have the airs about her as DP has now. I loved Shobhita and her outfits.
It’s all about flawed human emotions and the delicacies and nuances of stuff we all have done sometimes in a weak moment and sometimes brevity took is over! It’s all grey. It’s all human. It’s all relatable.... the pretentious, the almost criminal ambition- it’s true. It’s hard to fight ones self. You can’t fight yourself if you are gay, or in love with your wife BF, or if you want to manipulate a wealthy bachelor to fall for you, or if you are willing to marry an impotent man just so you can go to another world to change your life....
Ps: the writing is amazing

This movie is so well done in all areas !!!!
This movie is so well done in all areas !!!! :-) The story line keeps you guessing from the very start. The very subject of weddings always brings excitement, drama, upset, and as the name implies "Heaven". The actors are all excellent. My favorite is the "new" assistant who is so bubbly and so helpful right on her very first day ! WOW ! :-) It was good I just had to stay up late to watch the second episode which did not disappoint. Also, I like the blending of the "old" culture with the "new" culture we are upon. The music was just right. If you like comedy, drama, juicy gossip, and stories you yourself can relate to...I guarantee you will like this movie.

couldn't watch
I was hoping it would be fun like the book -The Marriage Bureau for Rich People-by Farahad Zama. But it is more of a soap opera type. I think it was the first sex scene you had. It's two guys, who meet for the first time at a party and jump in bed.
