We love this show. Being avid soccer players, soccer is a big deal in our household. Not only is soccer a huge part of this show but it also teaches good values and life lessons to make a show everyone can enjoy, even if you don't like soccer. We liked the main characters, too. It was great for the entire family and lookedforward to watching it. Was bummed after we watched the last episode. They better make a season 2!!!! Amazon please renew The Kicks!!!
Great pilot!!!! Lookingforward to watching more in the future. My 11 year old daughter loved it!! Great casting and story line. There couldn't be a better time to introduce this show with the tremendous popularity of the US Women's soccer team World Cup win across all demographics. Now is the time, please make more!
I sat down to watch this with my two daughters, and they LOVED it. The focus on the GIRLS, and soccer, is wonderful, and it's so refreshing to be able to watch something with them that I enjoy as well. Strong female role models (in the girls AND the mother, who is an entrepreneur as a self-employed event planner). Wonderfully written, and so much fun! Great job, Amazon- lookingforward to Season 2!
Thank you for a great first episode. I like the continual theme that success takes hard work and dedication. Thank you for not having the main character endure harsh bullies in a new school. The show is playful, yet deals with deep topics like self awareness, dedication, courage and the value of team work. I lookforward to seeing the story unfold and curious how I am how Devon's mom will find community. We lookforward to episode 2.
Although the series differs a bit from the written books, both my kids are completely mesmerized by it. The production and acting are on par with any network series and we are all lookingforward to season 2. As a family that has endured hours of Disney series, this is much more genuine and deals with issues in a way that seems to me to be natural and direct. Surprising that this hasn't been picked up by a network...
What a great first episode. I think the writers hit the mark when creating the storyline. The actors did a fantastic job bringing you into the story and feeling as if it was real. It's extremely relatable to adults and children of all ages. There can be difficulties that occur when parents have to make the decision to uproot a family, which happens everyday. Not only do the parents suffer, the children suffer as well. The show expresses that it's ok to make change even though you might not think it's great at the moment, but wounds will heal over time. Love each other, support each other and allow yourself to adapt. What a great message it gives. I lookforward to seeing the next episode.
This is a wonderful show for kids about friendship, and life changes. Centered in a town in California, Devon and her family move from Connecticut to California, experiencing all the life changes of moving, starting a new school, leaving friends, making friends, playing sports and getting along during change. My kids have watched this season several times and are lookingforward to more seasons. It has given them something to enjoy on the television that I approved. Five stars, plus!
As a father I'm always trying to find good shows and movies to watch with my daughter (9yrs). I was very pleased to come across such a show that demonstrated the importance of hardwork, family and setting goals(pun intended lol). We enjoyed watching this show and are lookingforward to a new season.
This is a great family show. The acting is good and the characters are believable. It is much better than all of the over the top shows and acting on Disney and Nick. Something the kids can enjoy and the adults won't cringe. Hope to see more of the character Max. He was so funny. Devon has lots of interactions with friends and it would be nice for Bailey to have some of that also.
