A Tale of Two Families The Hennessy story is a story of two families, Hennessy & Fillioux. In 1765 Irishman, Richard Hennessy founded the Hennessy trading house, and with the help of his descendants, expanded their network to over 160 countries. In 1800, the Fillioux family began expertly crafting the Cognac for the Hennessys, sealing a bond that remains today. 250+ years later, Hennessy continues to be a coveted Cognac, with eight generations of both families carrying on their ancestors' legacy.
