The younger crowd may not get it, but I do.

I am one who is getting up there in age myself. Aside from that the younger folks may think,,, you don't get it but you will, just wait. I really enjoyed this film. Love those guys.

Lighthearted, exciting movie for us seniors! No F bombs or loud obnoxious background music!. A good entertaining plot with superb actors and a great script!

Lotsa Fun to Watch

This is one of those made-for-CD movies; I saw it really late at night on an arcane cable channel, and had missed the first 20 minutes, but it kept my attention. It stars major actors in non-demanding but entertaining roles. Would I criticize any part of it? Yeah, that Ann-Margret falls for Alan Arkin. C'mon!
I should highlight one of the most delicious parts goes to a perhaps 8-year old Asian American girl and how the director builds the suspense in her tiny but important role. Another is the convenience store manager who spends his lunchtimes eating with his eyes glued on a panoply of CCTV monitors. And you don't have to be an FBI investigator to appreciate Matt Dillon's portraying his character's efforts to rise above the boredom of his work.
My favorite flick-featuring-otherwise-unemployed-acting-stars had been Into the Night (Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Pfeiffer, and many stars I recognize). This is on a par with Going in Style. I recognize vastly fewer actors, but they are all very good, and taking place in NYC it is naturally and effortlessly multicultural as well.

Drags a bit in the beginning, which covers some thoroughly-trodden ground: aging folks try one last (extralegal) fling so they can live out their days in “style.” In this film it’s three men who are just about penniless, mostly because of bank and employer greed.

In my opinion the film is saved by a powerful ending involving a surreal police lineup. So, enduring the earlier part of the film pays off handsomely. There are solid performances by Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Alan Arkin, Ann-Margret, and Matt Dillon.

It's the three Amigos - the modernized version - The good guys win after all...

Standard fare for the type of plot played out here. Acting was reasonably believable. Enough ingenuity at action level to keep story moving. The plot is of course all fantasy but did make good attempt to show humor in frailty of humankind at (in) twilight years. Just one/two F*** bombs ruined a nearly acceptable PG rated level rating. Overall, an enjoyable break from watching mostly ridiculous T.V. stupidity. The ending makes the whole episode worth watching. Nice to see some decent movies can still be made using the talent of some of the few remaining quality actors. Would like to see more of the same.

These three characters were great in their parts and never a dull moment this is one I will watch until I ruin the disc and have to order it again. For a action comedy is not lacking in any way. Buy it you won't be disappointed in any way.

A Gem of a Film

I love the casting, I want to see more of this chemistry it was amazing and incredibly funny. We have the angle of looking at how we as a society treat and care for our elderly and it really is a retrospective glance at what we're doing wrong, and how rigged the system is of banking, jobs and so on. Despite those being the undertones and themes, these 3 gentlemen make it comical and are determined to get their money back from all those years of hard labor. Truly a great film

Why do people give a low rating for things that are not related to the movie they are rating???? Seriously,If your disc is scratched or you got the wrong one when you ordered, that is a company issue, not a rating of the movie...a pet peeve of mine! Anyway,If you are looking for a light
hearted comedy to just escape the world for a little while, you will like this. I love the stars, and they play off of each other great. I really enjoyed it
