Learning about the early years of a man used by God in amazing ways is definitely a worthwhile endeavor. This movie does a good job in taking a brief journey through the history of Billy Graham's life while still being entertaining.
However, after reading Garth Rosell's "Surprising Work of God" and John Pollock's "The Billy Graham Story" I was disappointed with the characterization of Billy Graham as a not-so-intelligent character in his early years. While Billy Graham did grow in his passion and his direction following his time at Florida Bible, I never read the kind of indecision that this movie demonstrates. In his time at Florida Bible, Billy Graham began preaching on regular occasions, preaching to as many as 1,000 at a time! So while Graham did have the first awkward experience in his first outing with Dr. Minder, that doesn't seem to be pattern.
God used this man in amazing ways because from an early age he was committed to preaching...whether to the stumps around Temple Terrace or thousands filling stadiums.
