This is a rare die-cut advertising herald (flyer) promoting the three-night, Post-Broadway engagement of the LOUIS A. HIRSCH and EARL DERR BIGGERS musical comedy "SEE-SAW" at the Court Square Theatre in Springfield, Massachusetts beginning December 22nd, 1919. (The production opened September 23rd, 1919 at George M. Cohan's Theatre in New York City and ran for 89 performances before going on the road.) ..... The Broadway cast included GEORGE BARBIER, THEODORE BELLINGER, WALTER BELLINGER, HELEN BOLTON, CHARLIE BROWN, FLORENCE BROWNE, KATHLEEN CARROLL, FRANK CARTER, DOROTHY GILBERT, FREDERICK GRAHAM, BYRON HALSTEAD, ELIZABETH HINES, ELEANOR LIVINGSTON, CONNIE MADISON, JIMMIE PARKER, RUTH PARKER, SYDNEY REYNOLDS, GUY ROBERTSON, FRED RYKER, ROSE STONE, WESLEY TOTTEN, HELENE TRAVIS, JERRY WALSH and DOROTHY WHITMORE. (Note: The flyer does not mention any cast members by name.) ..... CREDITS: Music by LOUIS A. SAVAGE ..... DETAILS: Advertising handbills and heralds were distributed or inserted into the playbills of other productions to help generate ticket sales for upcoming shows and events. This six panel, die-cut herald measures approx. 2 7/8" X 6 1/8" inches (8 3/8" X 11" inches when opened) and includes wonderful graphics, production credits, several production photos, venue and performance dates ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a tear at the left edge of the center fold, this rare flyer is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
